About
Hi, I’m Alex Heart
I am a Buddhist practitioner and counselor working at the intersection of spirit, psychology, and relationship. My work is guided by loving presence, compassion and a deep trust in each individual’s capacity to heal.
Counseling can help you:
Cultivate mindfulness and self-compassion.
Deepen understanding of self and life purpose.
Work with difficult thoughts and emotions.
Improve relational and communication skills.
Tend to grief, loss and life changes.
Integrate spiritual and non-ordinary/mystical experiences.
Training & Experience
I trained in Focalizing, a body-awareness based therapeutic modality, at the Focalizing Institute, and am currently in year one of a 2.5-year comprehensive training at the Hakomi Institute. My training also includes five years of study in Mindful Compassion Dialogue. I have studied and practiced meditation in the Buddhist traditions of Theravada & Zen and Tibetan Buddhism for the last fifteen years.
